Community events
Winter Fun Day--This idea was something our troop used as a fundraiser. Organize an event and invite children from your community to come and do crafts for the holidays. Rent a space (we used the Cyrus Russel House in Cross RIver) and buy different materials to make crafts with. Make sure that you keep this event religion-friendly and have different crafts for the jewish holidays as well. You can charge $5 per child and send each kid home with some fun holiday trinkets. Some ideas for crafts and activities...
-Bake cookies beforehand and have the kids decorate them
-Make gingerbread houses
-Make christmas tree ornaments
-Make snow globes out of a baby food jar and lid, water, food coloring, glitter, and oil. Tape the lid shut so it doesn't leak
-Play Twister
International Night--An event that's run by your community. Pick a country and set up a table including everything about that country's culture--food, clothing, traditions, etc.--and do some research on your country to share
