Trips for your brownie troop
- Ward Pound Ridge Reservation: This is a great place to learn about ecology and nature. We hired a tour guider to walk us around paths and look around. We also had the parents of the brownies come with us, so the brownies could perform a little skit about girl scouts. We finished off with a bonfire and roasted marshmallows. You can contact Pound Ridge Reservation here: http://www.nynjtc.org/park/ward-pound-ridge-reservation
- Movie night: Enjoy a night with your brownie troop watching a movie and eating popcorn. The movie that we watched was the Sound of Music. Afterwards we reflected and discussed our favorite parts about the movie. Each of the girls brought a sleeping bag and pillow. This would be an excellent bonding activity for your girls.
- Ice skating: Travel to your local ice skating rink and skate with your girlscouts! The age of your girls is perfect to learn how to skate, as they could develop a hobby through this trip. We went to http://www.brewstericearena.com/. Take some of your troop funds or ask scout parents to contribute money to buy skates and admission.
-Sleepover at Your Local Library: A fun, quirky experience for the girls. Generally, as long as you clean up after yourselves, they don't mind. Order a pizza and maybe do a try-it about reading and books. The troop who did this activity used the Lewisboro (NY) Library.
- Sleepover at the Norwalk Aquarium: The Norwalk Aquarium has girl scout nights at reasonable prices. We slept in the room next to the sharks, which was pretty awesome. You also get a tour of the place and a Q&A.
-Go Indoor Rock Climbing.
-Visit Stepping Stones Museum, an interactive childrens' museum in Norwalk CT.
